Spending a night under the stars is often the highlight of the trip for our guests. There is a particular magic about waking up the dunes that makes an unforgettable experience.

This is also the part of our trips that guests have the most questions about, so in this blog, we share a little more about what your desert experience will be like.

We take our guests to different desert camps, depending on the time of year but also what kind of camp you would like to stay in – there are different options depending on whether you’d like to sleep in a more rustic camp or opt for a touch of luxury.

In all our camps, guests sleep in private tents within the camp (you will never be asked to share). There is often a choice between tents with a private bathroom, or tents with a shared camp bathroom, depending on your budget.

All the camps that we use have good bathroom and shower facilities, with hot water, as well as electricity. In our more luxury camps, there is also air conditioning and WIFI.

In the desert, we will enjoy a delicious meal under the stars. Dinner usually includes a tagine or barbeque with Moroccan salad, followed by seasonal fruit. We are able to cater for different dietary requirements and will discuss these in advance with the chef.

On arrival at Merzouga, we will take a journey on camels to reach the camp. We like to stop midway to watch the spectacular sunset – you can also try out some sandboarding if you’d like! – before continuing on to the camp. On arrival, we will enjoy some Moroccan tea before eating dinner and then spending a night watching the stars.

We recommend waking up early to catch the desert sunrise.

We will bring everything that you need for your night in the desert, so you don’t need to worry about bringing anything specific with you on the trip.

We guarantee that your night under the stars will be a memorable experience, and if you have any questions about your time in the desert, just get in touch!
